Japan (Oct. 3rd-8th)

For the Korean holiday "Chusok," Anthony, Melissa and I went to Japan. The trip started off great, because we got upgraded to business class for the ride over. When we landed in Osaka, we took a train straight to Kyoto. Kyoto is known for being a heritage city with a lot of traditional landmarks and sight seeing things. We walked around all day, almost everyday, just seeing temples and beautiful houses and palaces. We also went to a monkey preserve where you could feed and watch them jump around. The food was amazing. It was so good and there was so much more of a selection of things that I could eat. One night we even had fugu (blowfish), and we're still alive! It was definitely a highlight of the trip. We spent the last day in Osaka seeing a lot of the same things I saw when I was there before, but it was still so much fun. It was a really great trip and I have a lot of good memories and photos.

Korean Sports

So I've actually been to a few sporting events since I've been here. I've been to a baseball game (local teams), a soccer game (Iran vs. Korea) and a basketball game (America vs. Korea). I know what you're thinking-April watching sports??? Well it's true, although I didn't really enjoy them anymore. But people watching here is a little more exciting because the crowds are so choreographed and enthusiastic. Although I probably wont go to any more, it was interesting to see.

Shark Diving

Busan is on the southeastern coast of Korea. It's the second largest city in Korea, and has a nice laid back beach atmosphere. I had a lot of fun there just laying on the beach and going to a small amusement park. There is also an aquarium there, that has a giant shark tank, and anyone can go scuba diving with the sharks. It was the first time I've been scuba diving, and it was so much fun! We were allowed to walk around the bottom of the tank and look at the sea creatures. Especially the vicious sea turtle, which bit a few people. We also got to collect shark teeth on the bottom of the tank, but I forgot to get mine before I left. I should be getting some better pictures of me scuba diving in the tank, but I don't have them right now.
