July 1 & 2: Noth Korea
Going to North Korea is my second time on a trip with Adventure Korea. It was a pretty exciting and boring trip at the same time. It’s exciting, because there are guards all over the place, and there you’re not allowed to take pictures except in certain areas. All the facilities were pretty new and really nice. But they were nice, because they want to make a good impression on foreigners when their own citizens aren’t allowed to visit that area.
So the boring part was because it was so regulated, that it took forever to get anywhere, and we had to wait in line a lot (including on the hiking path), just so that they knew where everyone was. I wish the weather had been a little less rainy, and the skies a little clearer so that hiking was a little more pleasant. To hike we went to Geumgangsan (Kumgang Moutain). It was beautiful, as you can see by the pictures, although very dreary, too.
We also go to see an acrobatics show. It was quite amazing with their trapeze artists, clowns, till afterwards unfortunately. But that was definitely a juggling acts and tumblers. I wasn’t allowed to take pictures highlight of the trip.
